Experience You Can Trust. Leadership You Already Know.

Proven Experience for the Bench.

As Magistrate for the Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, Mary Ellen Ditchey has dedicated her career to serving the people of Trumbull County with fairness, professionalism, and respect for the law.

Qualified to Serve.

As Magistrate for the Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, Mary Ellen works directly within the court system, presiding over hearings, reviewing evidence, making legal recommendations, and helping ensure that justice is administered fairly and efficiently. Her experience gives her a unique understanding of the courtroom, the law, and the responsibility that comes with serving the public.

Unlike candidates seeking to learn the job after Election Day, Mary Ellen already performs many of the functions required of a Common Pleas Court Judge. She understands the challenges facing the court and has firsthand experience helping individuals, families, victims, and attorneys navigate the judicial process.

Mary Ellen believes every person deserves to be treated with dignity, every case deserves careful consideration, and every decision should be guided by the law.

Protecting Programs
That Change Lives.

The court’s role extends beyond deciding cases. It also includes helping individuals address the underlying issues that bring them into the justice system while maintaining accountability and public safety.

As Judge, Mary Ellen plans to continue and strengthen specialized court programs that have made a positive difference throughout Trumbull County.

One of her priorities is maintaining the Women’s Therapeutic Docket, a program designed to help women struggling with addiction, mental health challenges, and trauma. Through treatment, supervision, and accountability, the program provides participants with an opportunity to rebuild their lives, strengthen their families, and become productive members of the community.

Mary Ellen believes successful courts should not only uphold the law but also support programs that reduce repeat offenses, improve outcomes, and make communities safer for everyone.
